Calling All Buckeyes to Vote YES on Issue 2!
It’s rare I’ll give a shout out to Buckeyes, given my green and white Spartan blood. However, Election Day 2009 calls for a rallying cry for every Ohio resident who cares about agriculture, the rural economy, freedom of business choice, scienced-based information or maintaining low food prices. My thoughts – live and unedited – about why Issue 2 deserves your YES vote.

If your zip code isn’t in Ohio, this still matters. It’s time to stop the emotional pandering of an a multi-million dollar animal rights industry!

Amending Ohio’s constitution to protect any special interest group is a terrible idea. The purpose of the state constitution is to set up the government and protect individual rights. The cigarette vendors and bars tried amending it to protect themselves 2 years ago, and now big ag is trying to do it. I encourage every Ohio voter to vote NO on Issue 2.
Thanks Michele, you have made some great points in your video. You outlined why my neighbor farmers and I – large, small, conventional, and organic – have decided that issue 2 is the correct step to ensure that animal welfare standards are addressed properly in Ohio.
The Ohio Constitution is set up to protect Ohio citizens rights, safety, and well being. There is no greater issue than food that effects all of us. We should all have the choice to purchase the food that we feel is best suited for our families, whether that be from a small or large farmer, its a personal choice. To limit a person on a limited income from purchasing food that was produced in a safe, cheap affordable humane way would be a social injustice to Ohio citizens.
To all Ohioans, please join me in supporting all farmers in Ohio by voting for a board that will use research and facts to determine what we consider inhumane pratices in Ohio.
A vote Yes is a vote for farmers!
Thanks,
Mike Haley-5th generation Ohio family farmer
I am not fully aware of issue 2 but am fully aware of animal(I don t know what adjective to use) NITWITS. I am from Pennsylvania but here is what happened in my area this spring when the grass was about 6-8 inches tall. a cow was standing at the fence along side the road and was yelling. A well dressed woman drove in the the farm and berated the farmer for starving his cows, because the hungry cow was wanting food.
She was hungry alright……..for the bull that was in the pasture accross the road.
SHE WAS IN HEAT
We better have some one that knows what is REALLY happening in farming NOT JUST THINK THE KNOW!!!!!!!
Michele knows what is going on!!!!!
GET OUT AND VOTE AND GET YOUR NEIGHBORS TO VOTE!!! 2% of the population the produce food need protection from the brilliant, intellectually myopic DO GOOODERS!!!
